Appointments
Patient visits are reserved EXCLUSIVELY for you, by appointment only. This means NO DOUBLE BOOKING. This resulting in our undivided attention to your needs, no rushing through your treatment, and minimal waiting time in our reception area.

To accommodate your schedule, we strive to arrange your visit at a time most convenient for you, including early morning, late evening, and Saturdays. Dr. Burman Our Staff makes every effort to respect his patients' time by seeing them promptly, which is why we ask our patients to respect our time by providing at minimum of 48 hours notice of cancellation. If you are scheduled on a Monday, please contact us by the previous Friday morning.

Emergencies

DENTAL EMERGENCIES ARE ALWAYS TAKEN SERIOUSLY

A doctor is on-call 24 hours via cell phone after office hours. Do not hesitate to call in an after hours emergency 908-415-9274. Provide your name, a brief message, and a phone number to reach you. Speak slowly and clearly. Please remember that sometimes a cell phone takes several minutes for the paging process may have no signal, so please be patient. The doctor will contact you as soon as possible.

Emergencies are handled in as timely a manner as possible; every effort is made to see you the same day. Keep in mind that if you can wait until the next morning, Dr. Burman the on-call doctor would greatly appreciate the call in the morning rather than in the middle of the night! We ask that you contact the office as soon as possible when you are experiencing pain to avoid after hours visits. Thank You.

Financial Arrangements
Asking for payment is a delicate subject, but we want to remind you that payment is expected at the time of your visit, unless arrangements have been made in advance. Making quality care affordable is important to us. Every attempt to avoid raising fees is made. The best way to do this is by avoiding unnecessary billing costs and keeping scheduled appointments. We want all your business transactions to occur as smoothly and conveniently as possible.

Prior to the start of treatment, fees and financial arrangements will be discussed in an open, caring manner so that you have all the information needed to make appropriate treatment and financial decisions.

Insurance
Our office is committed to helping our patients maximize their insurance benefits to which you are entitled. Many people do not realize that most dental policies cover routine exams, x-rays, and cleanings at 100%, twice a year, for all individuals covered. Financial arrangements will be coordinated with your dental insurance benefits whenever possible to reduce your out-of-pocket expense for the quality dental care you will receive. Please bring insurance information when you visit the office.

Because insurance policies vary greatly, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Your estimated patient portion must be paid at the time of your visit. We gladly accept assignment of benefits (for most insurance carriers) and we file claims as a courtesy to our patients. After 60 days, you are responsible for the entire balance, paid-in-full.

Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all of the cost of your dental care, even if you go to an in-network provider. Most plans include coinsurance provisions, a deductible, and certain other expenses that must be paid by the patient at the time of services. Reimbursement amounts are not, never have been, and should not be a guideline for quality care. We are here to try to help you understand your policy. Ultimately, it is the patient’s responsibility to read policies and be aware of services covered or not covered by the individual plan. Please remember that patients, not their insurance companies are financially responsible for services rendered.

Patient Safety

PATIENT SAFETY IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE.
The staff has been trained to exceed the guidelines set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for office cleanliness. We are committed to improving our patients' smiles in a relaxing, safe environment. We insist on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sterilization procedures. We clean, disinfect, and sterilize all instruments following each procedure or we use disposable, single-use equipment to ensure patient safety; our drill (handpiece) equipment is cleaned using a unit designed solely for this purpose. All surfaces of treatment rooms are disinfected after each patient.
